TeRRIFICA will hold the 3rd TeRRIFICA Reflective Workshop at the Fondation Charles Léopold Mayer on October 14th and 15th in Paris. This third Reflective Workshop brings together stakeholders from science, business, policy-making and CSOs who are involved in the TeRRIFICA project within the six pilot regions in Belarus, France, Germany, Poland, Serbia and Spain. The objective of this workshop is to discuss how to adapt Citizens’ Convention to develop climate mitigation and adaptation measures.

What is a Citizens’ Convention?
A Citizens’ Convention is a decision-making process on research and innovation issues. It combines three phases: training (during which a randomly selected group of citizens studies the relevant
themes), dialogue with experts (during which the citizens question each other and a pool of experts on the various themes) and binding joint conclusions (where citizens reach either a consensus
or a main position also taking into account minority positions). A Citizens’ Convention offers an appropriate setting for general concerns without any geographical restriction. The only limitation
is the level of maturation of the dealt topic, which must be high enough. For more details on Citizens Conventions: https://sciencescitoyennes.org/the-citizens-convention-anew-democratic-procedure-for-decision-making-on-research-and-innovation-issues/

What is a Scenario workshop?
A scenario workshop enables the exchange of knowledge, opinions, wishes, doubts, criticisms and suggestions on a particular problem among different actors, whether they are researchers, practitioners, policy makers or CSOs workers. The methodology stimulates constructive discussions and subsequent involvement in the context of a collectively defined objective and whose very first steps have been identified and their implementation distributed among the participants.
