Spring 2022 series of lectures and seminars in the framework of TeRRIFICA

The Adam Mickiewicz University is organizing a series of lectures, seminars and consultations in the framework of the H2020 TERRIFICA project. All of them will be delivered by Prof. Elias G. Carayannis (George Washington University – School of Business).

The webinar series will focus on the areas of strategic Government-University-Industry R&D partnerships, technology road-mapping, technology transfer, international science and technology policy, technological entrepreneurship, and regional economic development.

The diverse and inspiring presentations will highlight emerging opportunities as well as unveil challenges reflecting upon and pave the way for regional economic development. Each session aims to provide ideas to promote knowledge transfer that may lead to develop and test new solutions and, above all, to overcome obstacles regarding the sustainability linked to climate change adaptation and mitigation.

  • March 8th – Quadruple and Quintuple Innovation Helix Frameworks and (digital) social innovation ecosystems (co-creative tools, open innovation and citizen science)
  • March 22nd – Society 5.0 and Industry 5.0 in the context of climate change geo-political socio-economic, socio-political and socio-technical challenges and implications for adaptation and mitigation policies and practices
  • April 5th – The era of digital innovation in the context of as climate change adaptation and mitigation (AI and habitat innovation)
  • April 12th – Smart cities design evolution in the context of the climate change adaptation and mitigation challenges and opportunities for socio-centric and climate-centric solutions with performance metrics and evaluation modalities
  • May 10th – Cyber-Development, Cyber-Democracy, Cyber-Defense, and Cyber-Diplomacy as perspectives and approaches for framing proactive, predictive, preventive and pre-emptive policies and practices to cope with the climate change geo-political socio-economic, socio-political and socio-technical challenges
  • May 17th – Living Labs experiments developing and explicating the Smart Sustainability Concept

Short Bio – Prof. Elias G. Carayannis:

Dr. Elias G. Carayannis is a full professor of Science, Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the director of research on Science, Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the European Union Research Center (EURC) at the George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) in Washington, D.C.

His teaching and research activities focus on the areas of strategic Government-University-Industry R&D partnerships, technology road-mapping, technology transfer and commercialization, international science and technology policy, technological entrepreneurship and regional economic development. He has several publications in both academic and practitioner journals, He has also published more than fifty books. He is editor-in-chief of the Edward Elgar Book Series on Science, Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; the Springer Book Series on Innovation, Technology, and Knowledge Management; the Palgrave MacMillan Book Series on Democracy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Growth (DIE4Growth), the Springer Book Series on Arts, Research, Innovation and Society (ARIS), the Springer Journal of the Knowledge Economy; the Springer Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

He has consulted for a wide variety of technology-driven organizations in both government and the private sector, including the World Bank, the European Commission, the Inter-American Development Bank, the US Agency for International Development, IKED, the National Science Foundation. He is fluent in English, French, German and Greek, and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
