TeRRIFICA represented at the International Conference “6th Conference on Urban e-Planning”, University of Lisbon, Portugal

April 11, 2022

On April 11, 2022, the TeRRIFICA team of the Faculty of Human Geography and Planning at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań took part in the International Conference “6th Conference on Urban e-Planning” organized online by the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon. Our team shared the project’s newest results about identifying and mapping places whose spatial development may strengthen or weaken resilience to climate change (a speech titled “Citizen science supporting climate action and adaptation policy. Crowd-Mapping insights from six pilot regions within the TeRRIFICA project”). Particular attention was paid to the use of participatory mapping (crowd mapping) in spatial planning and the preparation of strategic documents and policies in the area of adaptation to the effects of climate change on the example of the Climate Change Adaptation Plan of the Poznań Metropolis. An essential feature of crowd mapping tools was also emphasized as they enable the process of public consultations and participatory activities in times of sanitary restrictions, e.g., during the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic.
