Panel discussion on “Oldenburger Münsterland for Future” at University of Vechta

A panel discussion on “Oldenburger Münsterland for Future – How will the region become more sustainable” took place at the University of Vechta on 20th of November 2019.

It was part of the programme of the university’s Action Week on Education for Sustainable Development. The event was opened by Prof. Dr. Marco Rieckmann – scientific coordinator of the TeRRIFICA project at the University of Vechta, welcoming around 50 guests. Speakers were: Gert Stuke, President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Lower Saxony; Marion Rolle, Association of Lower Saxony Education Initiatives; Herbert Winkel, District Administrator of Vechta, a representative from the “Fridays for Future Oldenburger Münsterland” as well as a representative from “Fridays for Future Diepholz”. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Barabara Grabkowsky, Coordination Centre for Transformation of Regions with Intensive Agriculture.

The panel discussion served as a dialogue platform to discuss necessary, appropriate and innovative strategies for climate change adaptation in the Oldenburger Muensterland.
