
TeRRIFICA at the International Geographical Union Conference (IGU) on Natural Disasters, Marginalized Regions and Labor Migration in Nepal

On December 8-10, 2019, the International Geographical Union Conference (IGU) on Natural Disasters, Marginalized Regions and Labor Migration Urban Policy Congress took place in Kathmandu (Nepal). Paweł Churski, member of the TeRRIFICA project team, took part in the event.
“Contemporary climate change forces us to act. Our passivity increases the degree of danger and irreversible damage. Importantly, the threats know no borders and are global in nature. They are significant for the poles of growth and development as well as for peripheral and marginalized areas. In these circumstances, all initiatives that focus on the mitigation of and the adaptation to climate change are particularly important” explainted Pawel Churski at the audience.
All conference participants received information materials on the TeRRIFICA project. In addition, a discussion was held on the assumptions and implementation of the project. 45 participants from 8 countries attended the IGU Conference.
