Katarzyna Fagiewicz
Fagiewicz received habilitation 2017 in Geography, the field Earth Sciences. Since 2003 she works as Assistant Professor at the Department of Integrated Geography at AMU. Her field of interests concerne the structure, functioning and planning of landscape systems with emphasis on degraded and post-mining areas. She lead the project on structural and functional transformation of geosystems as a result of opencast mining of lignit (financed by National Science Centre). She participated in the Strategic Partnership between Technische Universität Dresden and the Department of Integrated Geography of AMU in cooperation with the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IÖR) in the field of development of post-open mining landscapes. Her activities cover also the methodology and application of environmental impact assessments procedures. Recently she focuses on urban green infrastructure planning related to vacant land. Elaborating this topic she participates in the H2020 project: COproductioN with NaturE for City Transitioning, Innovation and Governance (CONNECTING Nature).
