Citizen knowledge and climate change – MEHmed online seminar in collaboration with TeRRIFICA

Led by the Erasmus+ MEHmed project, TeRRIFICA is participating in a virtual seminar focused on citizen knowledge and climate change on Friday 25 March from 10am CET to 12:30 pm CET, with a special focus on the situation in the Mediterranean.

The seminar aims to address the essential involvement of citizens in actions related to both knowledge and climate action. In this sense, we will focus on three aspects: citizen science, communication with citizens and the dynamics of co-creation.

The seminar is open to all interested people who wish to attend through this virtual room on Zoom https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86735855219 and will be held in English.

Moderated by Joaquim Brugué, Prof. of Political Science at the University of Girona (UdG), the seminar will feature the following three presentations:

  • Media and climate change: communication and citizens’ perceptions, by Pep Espluga (Department of Sociology – UAB)
  • Involving citizens in climate change, by Norbert Steinhaus (Science Shop Bonn and coordinator of the TeRRIFICA project).
  • The art of cocreation, by Xavier Jané (Coperfield for Social Good; an entity that designs, accompanies and facilitates processes of transformation of public and private organizations through experimental workshops and coaching sessions).

The seminar will conclude with an open discussion with all participants.
